Welcome to Antimuon.net! This website is not at all about anti muons, but in case you are curios, this is what a muon is:<\/p>\n

A muon<\/b> (\/\u02c8<\/span>m<\/span>(j<\/span>)u\u02d0<\/span>\u0251\u02d0<\/span>n<\/span>\/<\/a><\/span><\/span> M(Y)OO-on<\/i><\/a>; from the Greek<\/a> letter mu<\/a> (μ) used to represent it) is an elementary particle<\/a> similar to the electron<\/a>, with an electric charge<\/a> of −1 e<\/a><\/i> and a spin of<\/a> 1<\/span>\/<\/span>2<\/span><\/span><\/span>, but with a much greater mass. It is classified as a lepton<\/a>. As with other leptons, the muon is not thought to be composed of any simpler particles; that is, it is a fundamental particle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The muon is an unstable subatomic particle<\/a> with a mean lifetime<\/a> of 2.2 μs<\/a><\/span>, much longer than many other subatomic particles. As with the decay of the non-elementary neutron<\/a> (with a lifetime around 15 minutes), muon decay is slow (by subatomic standards) because the decay is mediated only by the weak interaction<\/a> (rather than the more powerful strong interaction<\/a> or electromagnetic interaction<\/a>), and because the mass difference between the muon and the set of its decay products is small, providing few kinetic degrees of freedom<\/a> for decay. Muon decay almost always produces at least three particles, which must include an electron of the same charge as the muon and two types of neutrinos<\/a>.<\/p>\n
